hiking gear, outdoor sportAfter going home for the holidays, my family is going to come over to my place for a couple days before going home for New Years. While I can’t wait to get home for Christmas and see all my family, I’m excited to bring them back to my place. I am planning to show my mom and brother a local hiking trail that offers panoramic views of the LA area. To one end, there is the ocean and the other way is downtown. It is not a super tough hike but it still calls for basic hiking gear like water bottles, shorts and the right shoes.

I already told my mom we’re doing this so the next step is making sure she has the right hiking gear. We may need to find her a new pair of athletic shoes online. My plan is to tell her we are almost at the top when she starts getting tired until we actually get there. The view is totally worth it but it is tough for a good quarter mile. I look at hiking as an outdoor sport especially when racing to the top, which will happen with my brother coming along.
