In our family the words hiking gear sound like the most impressive symphony. Any time anyone uses the words hiking gear an internal antenna begins to work and we begin to try and sniff out what is going on. In our house we come up with any excuse to go hiking and so whenever he hear anyone say hiking gear even if it’s in a casual conversation, we all begin to rubber neck in hopes that someone will scream out, “Time for hike!” There is something very special about hiking that has all of us totally hooked. My mother says that we are just hooked to the feel-happy endorphins that we create after a nice hike and is the same reason we go crazy over our hiking gear. She says that we have all created this happy link between our hiking gear and the feel-good endorphins so that every time we hear or even look at our hiking gear we turn all giddy over them. Personally, I love the feeling of freedom that a nice hike provides and how my lungs just love the fresh air nature has to offer. Whatever it is, our camping hiking gear will always be a source of pleasure for all of us.
