hiking gear

Whenever we go hiking, we always bring a large range of hiking gear with us. However, we were not always so meticulous about planning our trips as we are now. It was only when we ran into a problem on one of our hiking adventures that we had to reevaluate how we prepared for our excursions.

We had been planning a great hiking trip for quite some time and had packed only the hiking gear that we thought we would need. Little did we know that there would be an unexpected storm on the first day that we set out. We had only been hiking for a few hours when the sky began to darken and we were less sure about the direction we were heading. Unfortunately, a compass was not one of the items of hiking gear that we had thought to bring.

Luckily, we found our way and everyone was fine... cold, hungry and tired, but fine. These days, we always go on our trips well prepared and we have yet to run into a problem again. I can speak for everyone when I say that we much prefer it this way.
