hiking gear


My hiking gear does not gather dust from lying in the closet but it does from the use I put on my hiking boots! Every Saturday morning, early, sometimes before the sun rises, you will see my silhouette climbing the hill at the mountain preserves park near my home. Just as the sun rises I hit the summit and enjoy the serenity of that moment. Nothing can compare to that and it simply melts away any stress I accumulated throughout the work week. 

My well used hiking gear has also taken me on journeys through canyons and creeks. The hiking boots are water proof and have held up well. My hiking gear also includes a backpack that holds lip gloss, sunscreen lotion, cell phone, portable gps navigation, water and healthy snacks.

The most challenging and rewarding trip taken with my hiking gear was down the path to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. The preparation I did for that trip was plenty but it did not compare to the physical and mental stresses I would encounter along the way. I can proudly say I made it to the bottom and back up again on my own fruition! Yes, my hiking gear has been well used!
