Waiting for River to Lower Before Camping Outdoors |

For the past few years, during the summer, I’ve been coming back to a great river that wraps through hilly forested terrain for miles. Through June, this river is pretty high and the only people who raft or kayak down are those with some skill. I’m just a leisurely kind of guy who likes to float down a river, drink a couple of beers and pull over into the various inlets along the way to explore. So at the moment, I’m anxiously awaiting the lower water levels for this river before heading up there for camping outdoors. The best way to raft this river is by using 2 cars. We park one at a park, way down the river where we get out and then take the other to a start point underneath some railroad tracks, which isn’t very far from our camping gear.
It is easy to spend an entire afternoon floating this river. This is one of many reasons I cannot wait for summer to begin. While it is already heating up, camping outdoors is not yet in the prime time of the year. Soon enough.
