camping outdoors, camping gear


I am looking forward to summer camping in the cool shady pines. It won't be long now until the weather warms up and it is officially time for camping outdoors. The camping gear is stored in the backyard shed. My kids who are also anxious to hit the road for some camping outdoors have been pulling out the camping gear and washing it up for the season. I have been very impressed with this behavior as they have taken it upon themselves to make it happen. I guess that tells me just how excited they really are for camping outdoors.

When my family goes camping we don't skimp on a thing. Every meal, morning, noon and night is a feast. The  days are spent hiking, learning about the flora and fauna or fishing for those elusive creatures. If the catch is good we will have fresh fish for dinner. At night we make samore's over the campfire, tell crazy stories and share anything that comes to mind. We have had some rather interesting campfire discussions. Camping outdoors is a wonderful family bonding event.
